Due to this new 2.3km section, the T2 line links La Défense business district to Parc des Expositions at Porte de Versailles and provides the interconnection with the existing transport system. Punctuated with 4 new stations, T2 acquires urban tramway status when it leaves the railway track. Relocating the tracks favours user-friendly traffic and public transport, as well as development areas, improves the townscape.
