In international competition, Paris aspires to be placed among the world’s leading centres for scientific innovation in healthcare. Cochin Hospital site, just behind the glass volume of the Maison des Adolescents funded by les pièces jaunes (small change charity), accommodates a biotechnologies nursery. A very simple volume which can only be seen close-up... its skin gives its character - perpendicular to the elevations, acidic green glass blades project their coloured shade on the satin-coated copper insulation panels. Five years later, the building must be expanded. The extension changes the scale of the building. We equipped it with a central atrium that articulates two volumes clad in the same orangish skin and a third which counter plays - reflections of the sky on opalescent glass-plates, orangish blades.
