The city of Weifang requestions its urban model, which corresponds to a common Chinese pattern: the higher middle class does not wish to inhabit it, restraining economic development. Our proposal consists of «urban islands» organised around a commercial pedestrian street, all surrounded by natural spaces that offer inhabitants leisure, hydraulic and alimentary services, as well as wetlands and shared gardens. A network of automatic shuttles connects the islands to the centre, marked by a system of 5 towers. These carry massive kites - a specialty and emblem of Weifang. These produce electricity, introducing the renewed city to the era of sustainable development.
