Our project consists in transforming the Pont de Rungis territory into a « Metropolitan District of the 21st century», in order to make it habitable but also attractive. Because of its urban situation and its size, the transformation of this territory will not happen in a day. It will rather happen through a progressive conversion across more than a decade. Our project hence gives major importance to the organisation of this process, spatially and temporally. we aim to maximize the drive and push forward of each action on the rest of the territory and inversely to take advantage on the other changes happening around the site. The successive arrival of Subway Line 14, of a high-service bus lane and of a train station will be structural elements of the Metropolitan District. But they accompany the territory’s transformation, more than they precede it: the metropolitan public equipment and the first residential parcels will be implemented before the arrival of the Grand Paris Express subway lines.
